“Pot-Au-Phở”, a French-Vietnamese Photography Exhibition

Updated: 6/4/2018 | 4:37:59 PM

From the 7th to the 30th of April a photography exhibition organised by two photographs, Nguyên Da Quyên from vietnam and Julien Brun from France, will take place in Ho Chi Minh City. On this occasion, 38 photos of the vietnamese population in their everyday life will be exposed.

The main purpose of the exhibition is to highlight the influence of the French culture in the everyday life of the Vietnamese population, which goes far beyond the similarities that can be observed in both languages, such as cà phê, pronounced like the French café, meaning coffee. This reasoning can even be found in the name of the exhibition itself, “Pot-Au-Phở”, which is a combination of the French word (and famous dish) “pot-au-feu” and of the Vietnamese infamous “Phở”.

This event is one among others which will be organised throughout the year of 2018 for the commemoration of the 45th anniversary of the etstablishement of diplomatic relationship between France and Vietnam.
